so this morning I was awoken around 5:30-6 by my dog coughing. my first (exasperated) thought was "what has he eaten now?" thinking that he had gotten into something he shouldn't have and started choking on it. After about two hours of coughing, accompanied by vomiting (since he was coughing so hard), I called the vet and took him in. Tracheal collapse. It sounds awful! how can a dog's trachea just collapse? sadly, I must say it is not the first time this has happened, the other times, I just attributed it to something else (choking on something, pulling too hard on his leash, etc).
Now, after having a very calm and passive dog all evening (thanks to the sedation at the vet's), I really miss my happy, energetic, and often annoying Scotch-man. Get well soon, little buddy!
